FAQs

Everything you need to know before visiting Lakshadweep

Answered by our locally based team in Agatti Island.

How do I plan a trip to Lakshadweep?+

Lakshadweep is a restricted zone, so every visitor needs an Entry Permit issued by the Lakshadweep Administration. The easiest way is to book a package through a locally based operator like Lakshadweep Travel Guide — we handle your permit, flights or ship tickets, island transfers, resort stays and activities end-to-end from our office in Agatti Island.

Which is the best island to visit in Lakshadweep?+

Agatti is the most accessible (it has the only airport) and offers the classic turquoise-lagoon experience. Bangaram is a private uninhabited atoll ideal for a luxury honeymoon. Kavaratti is the capital and best for culture, water sports and family trips. Most premium itineraries combine Agatti with Bangaram or Kavaratti.

How many days are enough for a Lakshadweep trip?+

A 4-night / 5-day itinerary is the minimum to properly enjoy one island. For a multi-island premium experience combining Agatti with Bangaram or Kavaratti, we recommend 5 to 6 nights.

What is the best time to visit Lakshadweep?+

October to mid-May is the ideal season — calm seas, clear water and excellent visibility for snorkelling and scuba diving. The islands are closed to tourists during the monsoon (mid-May to September).

How much does a Lakshadweep tour package cost?+

Pricing depends on your choice of island, duration, resort category and travel season. Share your dates with us and we'll send a tailored quote — permits, flights, transfers, stays and activities are all handled end-to-end.

Do I need a permit to visit Lakshadweep?+

Yes. Every visitor — Indian and foreign — needs an Entry Permit issued by the Lakshadweep Administration. As a locally based DMC in Agatti, Lakshadweep Travel Guide processes the permit for every guest we book.

How do I reach Lakshadweep?+

By air: direct flights operate from Kochi (COK) to Agatti Airport (AGX). By sea: passenger ships from Kochi to Kavaratti, Agatti or Kadmat take 14–20 hours. We arrange both options as part of your package.

Is Lakshadweep safe for families and honeymoon couples?+

Yes. Lakshadweep is one of the safest destinations in India — no nightlife, no crowds, low crime, and calm lagoons ideal for children and non-swimmers. Alcohol is served only on Bangaram Island.

Still have questions? Browse our Lakshadweep tour packages, peek at the island photo gallery, read real guest reviews, or contact our Agatti team for a personalised itinerary.

Limited entries. Protected islands. High demand.
